The New DPV!
DPV stands for Delivery Point Validation. Ok, what the heck is THAT?! Well, it’s a better way for standardizing and checking the addresses you input into the databases.
Here’s how it works: you put in an address into the database and click save. The address is then checked against 145 million addresses for accuracy and standardization. If the DPV can not find the address, you will be given an error message but the address will still be saved.
How is this different from our current system? Well, previously the system checks to see if the address was in a reasonably valid format, the DPV system checks to see if the address actually exists. This decreases the chances of a bad address from approximately 1 in a 1,000 to 1 in a million. DPV will save you postage and time by warning you of possible bad addresses before any mailing occur. And best of all, you don’t have to do anything! DPV has already been implemented for all CompleteCampaigns.com databases.
