Finding Pure One Party Households and Giving Them a Pure Party Code.

Finding a household that belongs only to one party.Although this process is long, it only has to be done once and the records will be permanently coded.  For this example, we will be finding households that all members are Democrats but this query could be done for any party.

 

Step 1: This query will require you to create codes called Republican in Household, 3rd Party in Household and Pure Democrat Household. For more on how to create codes, click here.

 

Step 2:First we will want to add a code to everyone that has a Republican in their household.

Add to Query

 

Under Query Options, click Include Entire Household.

 

 

Under Export Options, click Type: Data Updates and Format: Add/Remove Code.

 

 

Click Submit Query.

 

In the Set Code Report, it will tell you how many records were in your query.

 

Select Republican in Household as the code you wish to set. Click Set Code.

 

Step 3: Now, we want to find and code all 3rd party voters.

If you run out of room for all your 3rd parties, you can click Add to Query and continue your query but the Join will be or.

Step 4: This is our final step! Now, we want to code all of our pure democrat households.
