Editing Tables
The Edit Tables feature enables you to add, rename, merge, or delete table entries. The same
procedure is used for all Table modifications. The Edit Tables fly-out menu lists the tables that
can be modified. They are:

•  Affiliations
•  Contributions Sources

•  Contribution Types

•  Disbursement Kinds

•  Employers

•  Issues

•  Occupations

•  Organizations

•  Origins

•  Record Types

•  V.I.P.s

Adding a new Table Entry

To add a new table list option from the Utility menu, follow the steps outlined below. A picture
of the Employer table is shown.

Step-by-Step…
1.  From the Main Menu Bar, select Utilities > Edit Tables.

2.  Highlight the Table you wish to edit on the fly-out screen.

3.  Click the New button or type Alt+N.

4.  Enter the new name in the edit line above the New button.

5.  Select Close to save your changes.

Merging Table Entries

Step-by-Step…
1.  From the Main Menu Bar, select Utilities > Edit Tables.

2.  On the fly-out menu, highlight the table you want to edit.

3.  Select the first entry from the List Box that you want to merge.

4.  Click the Merge button or press Alt+M. The Merge button will become
red.

5.  Double-click the second entry from the List Box. List names used in the
first entry are updated with the second entry in their places.
6.  When you are finished editing the table, click the Close button.

NOTE: Any Record that had the first entry entered in the table will now have the second entry.
Merging table entries is a great way to clean up duplicate entries in
table-ized fields.

you are certain it is not in use.
