Sprint 113 Release Notes

April  Release

Overview:

Sprint 113 went live on April 30, 2020.   During Sprint we completed work on the Arena 360 App. We added support for Bills and Votes, Calendar List and Meeting creation and iCal integration with Calendar.     We urge interested clients to reach out to their Account Manager to discuss the App and how they can immediately start using it.

Arena 360

Arena 360 is a dedicated Government Relations App that will provide your stakeholder access to a variety of information related to their legislators, Assets, Bills and Votes and more - all from their mobile device.  We envision our clients supporting multiple Apps dedicated to specific user personas – which may reflect Grassroots advocates, Lobbyists or Government Relations Staff. The App will be highly configurable so you can expose a variety of data best suited to your stakeholders.

During this Sprint we worked on the following items associated with the Arena 360 App.

Recent Search & Upcoming Events

Recent search results and upcoming open activities will display on the Arena 360 home page.  The user can quickly link to the most recent results for (Legislators, Bills, and Activities).  Arena 360 will display the last five for each type.  Also – Arena 360 will display upcoming Open Activities.

Legislator Page – Bills and Votes

Arena 360 will display dedicated Bills and Key Votes cards within the Legislator Profile page. When on the Legislator Profile page the user will navigate to the bottom of the profile and see a section called Bills and Votes.  

The Bills and Key Votes must be tracked within Aristotle 360 prior to being displayed within Arena 360.

After user has clicked Bills and Votes they will see two tabs displayed.

  1. Key Votes – Votes that have been marked “Key” within Aristotle 360.
  2. Tracked Bills – Bill that have been tracked within Aristotle 360

Details:

Key Votes (Opened By Default)

Key votes will display the following:

  • Bill – The Bill that is linked to the Vote
  • Date of Vote
  • Vote Name – Custom Name (from Aristotle 360) OR Bill Question if a custom Vote name has not been entered.
  • Custom Description – Description created within Aristotle 360’s custom details section if present. If not present then description will not be shown.
  • Our Position – This is the position that has been entered by your organization
  • Rep’s Position – This is how the legislator has voted when compared to the “Our Position” viewpoint.

Tracked Bills – Show Bills that Legislator has sponsored/cosponsored

Tracked Bills will detail the following:

  • Bill Number
  • Bill Date - Creation
  • Bill Name – Will show custom Bill name if present if not it will display technical bill name
  • Sponsorship Status – Sponsors or Co-Sponsors

Note: Bill may be clicked to open up details of the Bill

Bill Details

The Bill details page will show a variety of details associated with the selected Bill.  Only bills that are tracked within Aristotle 360 will be displayed.

The following Bill information will be displayed:

  • Bill Name – Custom Name (created within Aristotle 360) or technical Bill Name
  • Bill Number
  • Level – Either Federal, State or Local
  • Introduction Date
  • Last Action Date
  • Last Action – Shows description of last action associated with the Bill
  • Sponsor – Chief Sponsor of the Bill
  • Chamber – Where the Bill introduced
  • Position – Organization’s view point on Bill as created in Aristotle 360
  • Comments – Custom description created within Aristotle 360. Provides organization’s overview of the bill.
  • Sponsors & Co-Sponsor – Roster of Sponsors/Co-Sponsors and their sponsorship designation
  • Votes – Any Votes tied to the Bill that are specifically tracked in Aristotle 360. 
    • User may click on down arrow to open up Vote Details

Vote Details- Unexpanded View

  • Vote Name – Custom Name or Vote Question if not custom name not present
  • Vote Date
  • Roll Call No. – The Roll Call Number
  • Status – Vote Status
  • Vote Summary – Shows Yeas, Nays, Present and Not Voting counts

Vote Details – Expanded View

The expanded view (click down arrow) will provide even greater insight into the Vote.  In addition to the information above it will also provide the following:

  • Custom Description – This is the custom description created within Aristotle 360 and provides the Organization’s viewpoint on the legislation
  • Question: This is the formal question that the Vote was addressing.
  • List of Voters – It will detail each legislator’s vote and party identification.

Activities Button

User may access upcoming activities that are in an Open state and create new activities between User and Legislators/staffers/individuals present within Aristotle 360.

User can click button and see Open Activities page which will permit user to access a specific Activity Or using the “+” icon create a new Activity

Activity User Interface

The user can add four types of Activities by clicking on the appropriate activity type and the select will be highlighted. The activity types supported are Appointment, Call, Email and Task. 

Arena 360 will leverage the native Date/Time picker from your mobile device.

The App will allow you to capture the following fields:

  • Date – Start and End Date
  • Time – Start and End Time
  • Subject
  • Event Location – This will be used for Appointment Invites but will not be recorded to Aristotle 360
  • Organizer – Will be auto-filed by the App for the logged in User. Additional “Organizers” may be added
  • Attendees – Attendees would be individual participating in your activity. You may include any of the following types of individuals:
    • Staff (Legislative Staff linked to a Legislator)
    • Individuals (Non-Legislators/Staff who are in your Aristotle 360 database)
    • Legislators
  • Bill/Number/Name (Optional) – You may link a specific Bill to your Activity.
  • Issue (Optional) – You may link a specific Issue to your activity.
  • Notes/Description – You can provide information about a meeting and also have other Arena users input their descriptions.
  • Status – a variety of statuses that are attributed to specific activity types.

Sending an Appointment Invite

After creating an activity you may send an iCal invite after saving. We have restricted the App to prevent sending to Legislators. Typically a Legislator schedules their calendar through staff so we didn’t want to inadvertently facilitate issues related to scheduling.

Steps to Sending Appointment

  1. Create Activity
  2. Select “Send Invite”
  3. See Confirmation Message and Button State changed to “Send Invite – Email Sent”

Legislator Page – Personal Information

Arena 360 will detail personal information within the Legislator Profile. 

Personal Information would include the following when available:

  • Race
  • Birthdate
  • Marital Status
  • Ethnicity
  • Religion
  • Education
    • School
    • Degree
    • End Date (Graduation)
  • Occupation
    • Organization
    • Start Date
    • End Date
