Email Template Builder

Manual

Overview:

The new Email Template builder will insure universal deliverability for your Mass Emails in an easy to use drag and drop interface which will provide non-technical users the ability to easily craft visually compelling emails.  The manner in which the emails are created will insure your emails render correctly within any email client.

We are sensitive to the fact that many users maintain numerous legacy templates that may make it impractical to immediately transition to the new method.  With this in mind we will support the legacy template builder for the foreseeable future. We do urge users to transition to the new Template builder as quickly as possible to exploit the new features that include superior email rendering, across multiple mediums, and deliverability.

Legacy Template Support: We will continue to support your existing templates (Now called Legacy Templates) in the same manner as before. You may call the legacy template into a new mass email as well as create a new template using the old method.

Modern Template: The new Template Editor (Modern Template) will provide an intuitive drag and drop methodology where content blocks (text, buttons, images, etc.) are arraigned to build your email. You can easily preview how your email template will display on a computer, tablet or mobile email client.

You may access saved templates (Legacy and Modern Templates) available within the Mass Email Activity Wizard by accessing saved templates.  All templates are accessible from a single list.

Setting up a New Email Template

The overall “philosophy” of the new Email Template builder is to permit the user to easily add Content blocks that leverages pre-defined elements to build compelling emails. Each element may be styled and modified to create your unique branded email template.

The Template editor provides the ability to style fonts, colors, text size and buttons.  You can easily insert images and URL links.

To create a new Email Template navigate to Settings->Template Editor.

Create Content Blocks – Drag Block to Canvas

Tip: Think how you would like your email to appear and the main content elements you would like to support.  By way of example we will create a Solicitation email that will include the following elements:

  1. Header – That represents an Image that consists of our Brand
  2. Personalized Opening & Content
  3. Button to Solicitation Form
  4. Closing
  5. Footer
  6. External Background Color

Based on these requirements we would select the Blocks that would accommodate these elements and drag/click them to the canvasDon’t worry about adding in images or content at this point just get the blocks in place that will support the main content areas for your email template.

Shown below are the Blocks that we have added to the Canvas to create the Email Template. Highlighted are the Blocks that will accommodate the elements we have detailed above.

Modify each Block using “Content” and “Style” Controls

  1. Organization Branding / Image – Add Image
    1. Click Gallery to open Gallery Option
    2. Select Image or drag new image to Gallery
  2. Personalized Opening & Content – Add content and leave room for Merge Codes to be applied within Mass Email Wizard.

 3. Button Solicitation Form  - Style the Button element

  1. Add Button Name
  2. Manage Font/ Text Color/ Text Size
  3. Manage Button Color
  4. Manage Button Shape using Corner Radius control

4. Closing – Add Closing Text

5. Footer – Add Footer Text

  1. Setup up links to Social Media
    1. You can turn on/off links to Social Media elements
    2. Add URLs to Social Media Links

6. External Background - Change color of External Background

7.  SAVE – Save Message will appear in Green at bottom of screen.

Mass Email – Adding New Template

To add the new template to Mass Email follow the same process as you would for accessing your legacy email templates. Select Email Template and pop-up box appears from which you may select the new template. In our example we call it is PAC Solicitation.

  1. Select Email Template – Note: Both Legacy and Modern Templates are available in Template Select Window.

2. Select PAC Solicitation to insert new Template within html editor.

3. Add Merge Code(s)

4. Add Links

Please note: The HTML editor may alter the appearance, when not displayed in “Preview” mode of the template but it will maintain the creative standard shown in the new template builder preview.
